Morro Bay is an excellent place for birdwatching! You can observe the bird population year-round, though the best time to see migrations is during the Winter season. Morro Bay is home to about 30% of the state’s population of Western Snowy Plovers, and Peregrine Falcon frequent Morro Rock. Each habitat in Morro Bay has its own distinct wildlife, especially birds. Some of the best places to observe include: Morro Bay State Park Marina (1.6 mi.), The Audubon Overlook (5.0 mi.), and Morro Rock (1.2 mi.).
